A few weeks ago, when a stabbing pain in my stomach suddenly attacked. Thought it was just another ulcer attack, but it was unbearable that I had myself rushed to the hospital. I was given Maalox, so I dismissed it as just another ulcer attack. But the doctor was quick to ask me to have a series of tests including an ultrasound.
All the tests came back clear, except for the ultrasound, which showed some gallstones. I thought it was the kind of stones which can be treated by laser, but the doctor said that the gallstones, the biggest of which was 1.5cm had to be removed surgically. My gall bladder had to be removed as well.
I had a lot of things in my mind, and a lot of work to do, and tried to bargain with the doctor to give me a few more days to do the things that I have to do... But the doctor said no... The stones had to be removed ASAP. So I went to the office to ask for a leave.
I had myself admitted to the Paranaque Doctors' Hospital on October 27. On October 28, the gallstones were removed. And to the doctor's surprise, there were three of the same size. I asked the doctor how long it will take me to heal... and he said, a minimum of one month...
I am not used to staying at home for more than three days... I am not used to not doing anything for more than three days... But I guess, this is the Lord's way of telling me to stop and take a breather... My body had to rest... I have been working nonstop since 1987.
When He says stop, he really means it... I thought it will take me a few days... but two weeks after the operation, I am still having a hard time being on my feet for a length of time... I can walk around, yes, but only short distances... and at a very slow pace...
Well, I am still thankful that the operation went well, and according to the doctor, I am healing well... Thank God...
